Cannot add Full-text Search Component

D

Doug Osborne

My web server has FP 2002 extensions configured and
working. However FP2003 will not let me add the "Full-
Text Search" web component to my website.

The option is grayed-out and says the component be saved
to a web-server running SharePoint services.

Funny that. I had to use the SharePoint Administrator to
configure the FP 2002 Extensions. Why can't FP2003 see I
am running it.

What Gives???

Thanks,

- Doug

Tools -> Page Options -> Authoring tab
Tick "Share-Point Services" box.

You must publish the site to a server running Share-Point Services -
FPextensions are not the same thing (even if the administration uses the
same interface).

If you only wish to search HTML pages in your website use the
Web Search->Current Web component instead.
On Tools -> Page Options -> Authoring tab
make sure "Browse Time Web Components" is ticked.
