sites. Using Linksy 2.1g wireless router (cable modem)
with Norton IS. Have no problem accessing sites on
laptop. Totally befuddeled.

Dave I think I know part of the solution; I am having a
similiar problem. In "Help" section of Internet Explorer,
check the last listing,,"about..." See if your cipher
strength appears as 128 (correct) or 0 (problem!. There is
a problem with dll. files that can cause this. MS Support
gives solutions depending on your version of Windows. They
advise renaming certain files from their .dll extension
to .old which sounds to me like a logical fix, except I
can only get 2 of the 3 files changed. If you can
successfully change all 3, then reinstall Internet
Explorer and you should be good to go. Type "cipher
strength" into the MS knowledge base and you will get
directions. However, if you can make it work, please
advise; because as logical as the fix sounds, I haven't
had success. Linda

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately I already
have 128bit cipher strength. The purplexing thing is
that I can get to many secure sites (i.e. Fidelity,
Vanguard, Comerica, etc) with no difficulty. It just
seems to be these three sites (i.e. sbc.com, ual.com and
nextxclient.com) are the problem. Any other suggestions
would be welcomed!

TIA
