Cannot access web site with Vista but can with Windows XP Pro SP2 - 2nd attempt to post

Does anybody have an answer to why one laptop on my wireless network running Windows Vista Ultimate
cannot access http://www.dom/com while another laptop on the same wireless network can reach the
same site? The machine running Windows Vista Ultimate seems to "hang" while loading the first few
portions of the web site. It doesn't matter if I use Internet Explorer 7, Firefox or Netscape. The
other laptop loads the site nearly instantaneously.

I can't speak for the XP box, but the URL you've listed here is
invalid. Did you mean http://www.dom.com ? If so, it seems the site
was down as of this writing.

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.

I meant http://www.dom.com.

Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP Pro SP2 has no problems loading the web site.

As of this writing, Windows Vista Ultimate can load the site in about 1/2 hour using Firefox.

Were you running both boxes at the same time? Honestly, I think it was
their web server and not Windows.

Since I have too much free time, I booted into Linux (on the same
computer) and tried the site with several different web browsers
(Konqueror, Firefox, Epiphany and Dillo). Strangely Dillo got me there
the fastest. The others got me there abliet slowly (15-30 seconds).

I suspect their web server sniffs for a User Agent before severing HTML
so it can customize it on a per browser basis. And their server might
not yet recognize "Windows NT 6.0" (a/k/a: Windows Vista).

I could be wrong but nothing else makes sense.

I'd contact them about your problem.
