Sally,
I'm wondering whether the infection has been cleaned
properly?Here's a link to Norman's Sasser A-D fix
http://www.norman.com/Virus/Virus_removal_tools/14938/en
Furthermore, since Sasser was "an indicator virus"-i.e.it
showed that systems were not patched against LSASS
exploits,of which there are many-it is possible you may
have an agobot variant lurking somewhere which in turn is
blocking access to Symantec.
It'd be a good idea to run an online A.V. scan:

McAfee:

Panda:

BitDefender

Did you download the security patch via Windows Update
after you removed Sasser? Would you mind running through
the scanning process at Windows Update once more, just to
confirm you're fully patched?
Do you have a firewall enabled?

-----Original Message-----
I had the Sasser worm and removed it this week. Part of
the problem was an inability to log on to the Internet.
I am now able to use the Internet through Explorer, but I
still am not able to access the Symantec website (I need
to get information on how to reset auto-protect and e-
mail scan). I have a Gateway computer. Can you help?
This is all new to me.
