Cannot access secure sites

Since installing my new Broadband connection, I am unable
to access secure sites using IE 6.0sp2, although I CAN do
so using an alternative browser. I have tried solving by
ensuring SSL is checked etc but no success. IE is my
browser of choice and would like to return it to full use.
Help please.
