Cannot Access Downloads From Site - "Cannot Find Server Message"

Hello All,
Seem to be having a problem with Internet Explorer. When
I go to a site to download something - example: Apple
site to download ITunes, Microsoft site to download an
update, upon hitting the download button, after a second
or two, I receive a "Cannot Find Server" page, with
http:/// in the address bar and telling me that 'The Page
Cannot be Displayed."
Anyone have a clue what could be causing this - a bug, a
setting not set right??
Any help is appreciated.
