Cannot Access A Shared Folder (Locally)

To All,

I have Vista Business. I am the administrator and I shared a
particular folder, call it C:\Temp and named the share "MyTemp". The
computer name is "Lenovo". Under [Computer], I can see [Network]
[Lenovo][MyTemp], yet when I click it I get the error:

\\Lenovo\MyTemp is not accessible. You might not have permission to
use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to
find out if you have access permissions.

Windows cannot find the network path. Verify that the network path is
correct and the destination computer is not busy or turned off. If
Windows still cannot find the network path, contact your network
administrator.
Likewise if I try to map to it, same error. I find this peculiar since
I am trying to connect to a share that is local; nevermind trying to
connect to it from another computer over the network.

Any ideas?

I m having the same problem. I have a network which was working fine. I
have 3 computers and I am the only one who uses them. With all the computers
on XP it was lovely I could save to other machines and copy and retrieve and
share the printer.
I have checked the firewall and all the computers allow one another. I can
see the icon for the other XP computers and can scroll through the fileson
teh XP desktop from the Vista laptop, but cannot bring them into the laptop
or copy them or save them to the vista laptop.

It is driving me mad. I am constantly told I don't have permission. Or to
consult the administrator, which is rum as I am the administrator on all the
machines and also SOLE user. I am so sick of all this "security" frankly I
couldn't give a fart ifthe entire world can read my files. They's yamn
themselves to death, but I am pretty
fed up that I am unable to get them except by running about copying things
to discs.

Sounds like permission issue. You may want to use icacls to check the permission. this link may help,
