cannnot access DB

Hello,

I was trying to close an Access DB and somehow it got
corrupted and wouldn't close?

I then restarted my PC and tried again and then I got
this error


The Microsoft jetdatabase engine stopped the proccess
because you and another user are attempting to change the
same data at the sametime.

There is no one else but me on this network. Just me and
my web server.
How can I get back into this DB? Please?

First see if there is a file in the same folder with the .mdb file,
with the same name as your database but a .ldb extension. If so,
delete it and try again to open the database.

If that doesn't help... try some of the suggestions at Tony Toews'
corruption FAQ:

Where is "there"? And what do you mean by "the Access icon"? Are you
looking at your desktop, your My Documents folder, or what?

Sorry for the confusion

I deleted the DB and it was on a mapped drive on a server
2003 machine that previously had connectivity problems.

"there" was in the folder you asked me to look in.
I answered nothing in there. Sorry

I guess I blew that one.

I have to say I think one of the most critical
improvments MS can do is to scrap Access and start over.

Nothing but trouble and difficulties with this program

I'm sorry, but I find it a bit difficult to sympathize. If you had
deleted a Word document, or an Excel workbook, would you blame the
program?

You deleted the database. Access did not delete it. And it's a bit
much to expect Access to be able to open a nonexistant database!

I presume you have checked the Recycle Bin? If you're lucky, it's
still there.

No John,

I don't normally blame programs. I do use quite a bit of
MS products. But it seems Access is another animal that
does not like to cooperate.
If a Word, Excel, or Even Frontpage (which is not that
easy to use either) I have no problems with and FP can be
confusing. You can at least get back your material.

No, it is not in the recycle bin and I am somewhat sorry
that I deleted it. But I made this desicion based on the
worth of the DB and my aggrevation level to open somthing
I never messed with in the first place. There again
Acccess vs other programs.
