Cancelling Read Receipts

I recently sent out an email to a large distribution list.
Unfortunately the read receipt was on at the time. Is
there a way to cancel the read receipt. In the meantime,
I've put in a rule to remove the emails as they come in,
but I'd like to know if there is any way of cancelling the
read receipt after a message has been sent.
 
No, it's now controlled by the receiver.
