Can you open PowerPoint 2002 in PowerPoint 97?

Without saving the PowerPoint 2002 file as PPT 97, can the file be opened in
a PowerPoint 97 application?

Yes. Just don't add a password to the 2002 file.

Yes, but PPT97 won't support all the features of 2002, of course.
