Stupid!
I wanted to burn a CD to a CDRW using Roxio Easy CD but after it started
copying I realized it wasn't the right source disc. Tried to erase the few
files that had copied to the CDRW but the attributes are Read Only. Tried
changing attributes to blank option but that doesn't do it.

Is there a way to erase the attributes and salvage the CD?

Hi,

Open "Help and Support", search on "erase".

launch Easy CD Creator again and pop the CD-R/W into the drive. From the top
menu bar select Disc->Erase Disc. That will blank the CD-R/W. You can not
erase individual files from a CD-R/W unless you use special software called
"packet writing software" to preformat the CD-R/W. Then the disc will act
like a giant floppy and you can manipulate files on it just as you would
with a floppy. Roxio's version of packet writing software is called
Drag-to-Disc. In versions of Easy CD Creator 5 and lower it was called
Direct CD.

Ray, if it's a CDRW cant you just reformat it?

As the OP is using Roxio Easy CD, no it can't be "reformatted."
Formatting is only for use in UDF (packet-writing) applications; in
this case the OP would have said they were using Roxio Drag-and-Drop
or DirectCD.

Easy CD Creator masters a CDRW. The only way to clear files from it
at that point is to erase the entire CDRW and start over.

Thanks for the info NM , you always appear to be a font of wisdom.

Easy CD burns in a CD-R manner, and files are not individually erasable.
But you can erase the entire disk to start over with it: that will be in
its Disc menu - Erase Disc
