I have a large amount of photos, several gigs, and I have a Pioneer DVD-R
drive...can XP burn to it using the same method I use now to burn CD-Rs?
Also can it be read on other computers? Or on Macs?

I have all the XP updates.

If not, what is an inexpensive program that will allow burning data discs
for distributing to clients with a DVD drive?

Thanks!

Frank

Windows XP does not have the native capability to burn DVDs.
You'll need to purchase and install a third-party DVD burning
program, such as Nero (http://www.nero.com/us/index.html)

Yes..I was just hoping there was an easy solution to provide drag and drop
save to a drive letter. The drive did not come with software and I did not
want to purchase a whole software suite of utilities I will never use, just
want to record to DVD.

Does Nero or others offer just a small program for drag and drop drive
letter saves?

First the inbuilt XP stuff (for CD) is not such a real drag and drop,
using a UDF file system anyway. Which is why it is not suitable for
DVD. If you want no more facilities than such a UDF package, I suggest
DLA from http://www.sonic.com/products/dla/features.asp at $29.99
which works well on either CD or DVD
