I have a TON of files to convert into a new format, but the old company name
is within all of them and i need to set it up so that it automatically
recognizes and changes the old name to the new company name; IF it is
possible. This would be extremely helpful so I wouldn't have to read through
each document to find it(There are thousands).
I need detailed instructions as i am not the most knowledgeable in word

Sorry, Autocorrect works only on things you actively type on the keyboard.

What you need is the Edit > Replace function, where you put in the old name
and tell it to replace that with the new name.

While that would work on a single document, you need to automate it to
change batches of documents all at once. That means using a macro, which is
at http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/MacrosVBA/BatchFR.htm. For instructions on
what to do to get that macro from the web page into your copy of Word, read
http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm.
