Can I configure Windows Media Player to play QuickTime movies?

I've recently purchased a program (Starry Night) which has a lot of QT
movies and I don't like Apple's player. Can I use WMP to view these files?

Cheers.

You cannot.

Nope as QuickTime is an Apple proprietary format so no other player can play
these unless QuickTime is installed (and even then Windows Media Player will
not play version 5 or 6 files).

You might want to try Quicktime Alternative.

That will let you play QT files within WMP.

It's not supported by Apple though, so if you have any problems with it,
you're basically on your own.

Hi Jason, That just installs the codec's so you can use Media Player
Classic (Not MS), Zoomplayer, or IE. Windows Media Player can only play
"some" v1 and v2 encoded videos. It can not play any QTVR, v3 or v4 encoded
videos. Installing the codec's doesn't solve the problem of being able to
play them in WMP. : )
