can WD detect and remove rootkit type-antipiracy/cloaking spyware?

recently became aware of Sony's rootkit issue for anti-piracy software for
copy protected music and it's hidden functionality and cloaking. Very
concerned and want to find something to detect sony's version and any other
companies versions, can anyone advise me if WD can do this, or is there
another product available?
Please understand I totally agree with anti-piracy but I heavily disagree
with this rootkit software method to stop piracy.
If not familiar with this potential threat see:

Thanks in advance for any help.

I had the same concern as you a couple of months ago.
I was recommended a program called "Root Kit Revealer"....Everybody said it
was the best.
Sorry, I don't have a link, but just google it.
I had no Root Kits, so I can't tell you if Anti Spyware would have found it.

JUST REMEMBER:......Before running the program, you have to rename the exe
file. The reason is simple....Root Kits are made to cloak from such programs,
but by renaming the exe file the root kit will see it as a none treat and
there for not "hide".

I hobe that helps you.
