Can SP2 be uninstalled and reinstalled without original disk?

I have a problem that Adobe says can be solved by uninstalling and
reinstalling Service Pack 2:
http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/331094.html.

Then I go to Microsoft's info about SP2, and apparently SP2 CANNOT be
uninstalled:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...53-AB76-4A63-99DA-B4ED914C1514&displaylang=EN

Which is it??

Another complication: I have a Compaq Presario computer that never did
include the Windows XP disks. So, I'm afraid if I do uninstall SP2, I could
NEVER reinstall it.
I could make a Recovery disk, but I REALLY don't want to revert my computer
back to it's original state.

Can SP2 be uninstalled and reinstalled without the original disks?
Or should I just make a Recovery disk and revert the computer back to it's
original state?

You are confusing Office Service Pack with Windows SP2. Adobe wants you to
remove Windows SP2 (not Office SP2).
Read the Adobe article again.

OK, you got me there, I just didn't read the title closely enough.

But my problem remains: Can I uninstall Windows SP2 and reinstall it WITHOUT
THE DISKS??

Yes you can un-install SP2, you can also download a SP2 from Microsoft
should you wish to re-install it. To verify the ability to un-install go to
the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, it should be listed there if
your version of Windows (like mine) was a pre SP2 installation when the PC
was purchased. If your PC came with SP2 then I'm not entirely sure you can
remove it, but check Add/Remove programs anyway.

The big question which I have some reservations about is: after
un-installing SP2 is will some or all of the Windows updates you installed
each month be broken, this I can't answer.

The SP2 download file can be found at:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/default.mspx
Also for more info see:
