Can someone tell me how I get a Import Converter

I am trying to open Word Docs. Some are okay and some tell me I need to have
an Import Converter, where or how do I get one.
 
Hi.

You'll need your Microsoft Office installation CD to install the "Filters
and Converters" components. Use the "Custom Install" instead of the
"Typical Install," so that you can choose these components.
