Can Someone Please Demystify The Installer Folder Please?

I have a 782 MB Installer folder on my system drive.

I have read the KB and downloaded the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility.

What will happen if I used the utility to clean up the folder -

- Will my PC stop running?

- Will my programs stop running?

- Will I not be able to install new software?

- Will I not be able to uninstall existing software?

- Will I not be able to update/upgrade existing software?

- What will happen if I just delete the folder's contents?

Sorry for being somewhat dense, but the MS KB actually did not do much to
answer the above concerns.

The 782 MB of occupied space is not exactly a concern on this machine with
over 1.15 TB of installed (and formatted) storage capacity but I like to run
my system drive the leanest and smallest I can.
