Can someone explain upnp and the rest

Since my post yesterday, I have done a lot of digging everywhere I could and
eventually decided to download msn messenger 6.0 to see if it would work
"better" !!
After all the reading I have done, I am now totaly confused.

Is there such a thing than messenger with voice and video working on a lan
behind a firewall ?
Assuming there is, if my firewall has upnp capacities, does that mean I have
no special configuration for messenger other than the http port to be opened
and then upnp wil do the rest ?
This is what I eventually understood but it still doesn't work. It tells me
that either my computer, my ISP or my network does not handle voice or video
conversation ...

Please help .. PLEAAAAAAASE

Thanks in advance.

Serge

http://www.kerio.com/manual/kwf/en/ch10s05.html

control panel go to, administrative tools,
services, and look for universal plug and play device, and see if it started
if it is set to start automatic stop it and change to manual right click on
it go
properties startup type and from drop down box select manual and do the same
for SSDP Discovery service

this may help you

have you tried with the setting set manual and not disabled?
you should not have to open any ports as UPnP is suppose to open them on fly
as they are needed
