Can send email, but not receive email

I am not able to receive any emails, however, I am able to send them. I'm
using Outlook 2000.
I have tried the following:
-Sent many test emails
-Clicked the Send/Receive button, and it says that "The requested tasks
were completed successfully." (There is no error message whatsoever.)
-Made sure I was Working Online.

Please help! I can't figure out what's wrong and this is my work email!
Thank you so much in advance!

Some questions:

How long has the problem existed and can you remember when it first
started?

Have you messed with your settings recently? Are you sure that you
have the right pop/imap and smtp servers set up on your accounts and
the right user name and password etc?

Do you get your mail if you use a different program like Windows Mail
or Outlook Express? If not, it could be a sign that you have got your
settings wrong or that the problem goes deeper than Outlook. If you
get it, then try running a repair install of Outlook (you should be
able to do this from add/remove programs), recreating your mail
accounts in Outlook and see if it comes back to life.
