Hi,

I have a wireless network at home which works well (at
least it did when I left). I am now setting up a
wireless network at my Mom's and am having the following
problems (notes taken during wizard):

Trying to set up home network via wizard. Gets to the
point with the computer moving left to right from other
computer to house; chugs along ok for a little bit.

Then I get a message that my wireless network is
disconnected for about 5 seconds. It reconnects on its
own then I get the following error message:
Spooler SubSystem App has encountered a problem and
needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

After reporting the error, the wizard goes on to the
screen asking about the network setup disk. Since this
is the last computer on the network (of two, both
connected to a wireless router, the other one hard-
wired), I select "Finish the wizard." The wizard
finishes, tells me to reboot, which I do, but I still
cannot connect to the other computer. The only thing I
do different than the wizard is that I don't make a
network setup disk on the first computer. I just use the
wizard on the second computer. Is that causing my
problem?

I can connect to the internet, but not the other computer:

When trying to view computers in workgroup I get this
error:

Mshome is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrator of this server to find out if you have
access permissions.

The network path was not found.

What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Laurie

have you made sure both computers are on the same
workgroup, and under the LAN conection properties that
both computers have Client for Microsoft Networks, & File
and Print sharing. Make sure both of those are there

JOhn

OK, on the laptop (wireless) the wireless connection
lists both the client and file & print sharing. On the
desktop, the only lan connection is the wired lan to the
router. This also has both the client and file & print
sharing. Both computers show a check mark as well.

Both computers have Workgroup: MSHOME on the Computer
Name tab of System Properties. The laptop is running XP
Pro, the desktop XP Home.

The shared folders on the desktop have the little hands
as do the printers. But I still cannot see them from the
laptop.
