Can outlook stop adding a tentative meeting when opening a request

Hello,

Is it possible to stop outlook automatically creating a tentative meeting
within a calendar when the meeting request is either opened or viewed through
the reading pane?

I have deselected the "Process requests and responses on arrival" and
"Process receipts on arrival" within the Tracking options. This prevents the
request being added when the email arrives within the mailbox, but not when
opening or viewing the request.

I have witnessed this behaviour in Outlook 2002 and 2003...

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, there's no way to stop this feature when you open the meeting
invite. Your best bet is to mark the item as "free" after it shows up as
"tentative" in your calendar.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Greg,

I thought this was the case, but worth asking... I gather this will not
change in later releases of Outlook ie 2007...

I am not aware of any plans to change this feature. It's been this way for
all versions of Outlook (as far as I know).
