If someone sends me an email from Outlook, with a "return receipt", to my AOL
account, will AOL send back that particular receipt once I've opened the
email??? I've tried several times and it doesn't seem to work. Does anyone
know why this happens or how to overcome the disconnect?

Thanks

not all servers support returning read receipts and if they don't, you can't
do any thing to change it.

However, if the network server does support returning read receipts, a return
receipt will be sent to the message originator.

AOL will not honor server-based return receipts using third-party software
non-locally..

Return receipts are highly unreliable over the Internet. I suggest you not
waste your time with them.
