Can Outlook 2007 with BCM migrate ACT 8.0 Databases (.pad files)?

Please let me know ... Thanks.

I just purchased the 2006 Office for Small Business with Business Contact
Manager and a new machine with Duo 2 processor and WinXP Pro 64 bit version.

Guess what! I can't migrate ACT 8.0 data to Outlook BCM and ...

Nothing, and mean nothing is compatible with WinXP 64 bit so I had to
replace it with Win XP Pro 32 bit.

Frustration level with Bill Gates is getting severe. Next system, probably
will be pen and paper. If anyone knows whether I need to go and get Office
2007 to migrate my ACT 8.0 files, please let me know. Thanks ...

Why did you buy a 64bit version of Xp?

I've heard that bcm v3 will import ACT 8 PAD files but don't have ACT 8
myself.

RationalAlan:

You're correct for the version you have -- BCM 2003. The Release Notes for
BCM 2007 say that ACT! 8.0 is not supported but 7.0 is. I haven't had a
chance to test this yet but 8.0 shouldn't be much different than 7.0. Your
other option is to forget the notes & history in ACT!, export as a CSV, and
import into BCM that way.

Thanks,

Hi Luther.
Reco from the guy who built the machine was to buy 64 bit to enhance
performance of dual core processor. Perhaps when the new version of bcm is
out ... However, now I have used ACT 8 and it is so much better than bcm
that I will scrap bcm and stay with ACT. Thanks for your help. Alan
