Can not start lanmanworkstation: event 7023

Since a couple of days I have not access to Network (NT4) drives and printers-but I do have access to Internet and Exchange Server. From other WS in the LAN I do have access to all resources. Hence, problem must be with my WS.
Amazing though, network status indicates active! Event View shows an error from service control manager with event 7023. And under Administration/Services when i try to start Work Station Service I get an error meassage: Can not start workstation service on local computer. Error 126: indicated module can not be found!

Any ideas are higly appreciated

Does \windows\system32\wkssvc.dll exist?
