Can not send emails

I have Outlook 2003 and comcast is my internet service provider. I have set
up my email account correctly with all the setting I checked and rechecked
500 times. I can receive email but can not send any. The error message
reads that outlook could not connect to the outgoing server and to check my
setting and contact my internet service provider. which i did and they said
they do not support outlook and gave me no help.

any answers?

Can you post the exact error message including the error number that is shown. Also which Anti Virus are you using and is the email integration set to scan incoming and outgoing emails

I will have to do later since I am not on home computer but I am running
McAfee antiviurs software. I do believe it is set to scan incoming and
outgoing but I will also check this and get back to you later. I read some
of the other discussions and know that my outgoing port is 587 so that is
already correct. I'll send other info this evening. Thanks

Task mail.comcast.net Sending reported error (0x80042109) Outlook is unable
to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) email server. If you continue to receive
this message, contact your server administrator or ISP.
