I receive the following message every time I try to use Windows Mail to send
email:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: RESPONSE', Account:
'mail.comcast.net (1)', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I looked at some other threads and one suggested to change the port to 587.
I did Windows mail worked for one pass (i.e. it sent the mail).

I left the computer came back and whalla the same error port appeared.

Can anyone please help me?
With love and respect,

Stan & Betty

Change the outgoing server port to 587, and make sure that
"My server requires authentication" is checked.
If you still get an error after doing that, post the new error message.

Not nothing against Microsoft but, They NEED to provide an email service that
does not need all that POP3 crap, I have ued yahoo for a long time and I can
not set up an account with you, your to cryptic for me to understand. Never
could figure out outlook express either. I will stick with yahoo until you
get an automatic thing going.

You mean like Hotmail/MSN/Live email, which you can access with Windows Live
Mail, or a web browser?
