can not see workgroup

Can not browse other computer in the same workgroup.

This is xp pro with sp1. IP address is right, can access internet, can ping
other pc but can not browse other pc so can not install network printer.

Are both PCs XP Pro?

Do you get an error message? If so, what error message?

I am having the same problem with 4 PC's running XP Pro. The same conditions,
I can ping them, folders that were mapped to me before work, but i cant see
the PC's when I go to view workgroup computers.

Are you using Simple File Sharing in XP?

Are the browser and NetBios services running on all PCs?

I dont see NetBios and browser in services.

I have this problem and have posted the question previously. All people
could tell me was that it is probably a browser issue and to run browstat.
It didn't help... I am convinced its an SP2 issue as everything was working
well before I installed SP2 on my machines... do your other machines have
SP2? - if not, that blows out my theory !!!

Mine was sp1. I update to sp2 and did some changing (I forget what I
change). Now it is working.

There is some xp sp2, some xp sp1, and w2k server.
