Can not save Jpg and Gif Pictures

When I try to to save a pictures off of web sites and right click and save a
picture
as the save as type does not have Jpg or Gif in it. All it has is Art or
Bitmap.
Can I change It or is that just in the program?
I would welcome any help on this.
