Can not remember the Desktop in win2K with latest SP's ???

P

Peter Frank

I always have a lot of explorer windows (set on different directorys I use a
lot when working with a project) on my desktop, which will be remembered in
both size and view whenever I turn on my PC.

But after having upgraded with all the latest security versions and
everything (SP4, and from OE5 to OE6 etc. etc....) - it can not remember the
windows (explorers) on the desktop, like it used to !!!

Impossible to live with, when you are used to it !
And my hardware does not give me the possibility to install Windows XP, so
this is out of the question...

Any ideas of how, and IF it can be turned back on (in the registry ???) in
win2k with new SP's ?

In WinXP you have a feature in the explorer control menu, but not in win2k !

It is an english windows 2000 ver 5.0 (build 2195: Service Pack 4) I use.
Before, I only had till SP2 (which is necessary for win2k to work at all) -
but then my desktop remembered the windows perfectly, always !

Help help help....

Or has Microsoft removed this option ?

I hope not, then I have a REALLY big problem now !

Kindly, Peter Frank
