can not open a doc

Semiha Erdogan

I can not open or copy a doc in my flash disk. the errror message is " the
doc is corrupted or unreadable". other docs can open and copy. the last time
I open it without copying it to computer and saved it on flash disk again. I
tried "open-repair" and "MS Office Word VÄ°ewer" but they did not work.
thanks

It's never a good idea to open a document directly in Word using removable
media. Because of the way Word manages open files and temp files, documents
can be corrupted quite easily if the media is removed when a Word file is
still open.

Will documents *always* be corrupted? No, but it happens way too often to
take the risk.

The proper method is to copy the files to a hard drive and edit from there.

In your case, it's possible that the file has already been corrupted. I
would close Word, copy the file to your hard drive, then reopen Word and see
if the file is okay. It's probably not, but knowing the propensity for
corruption can keep you from corrupting other documents in the future.

Mr. Tyson is correct. If you are getting the error " the doc is
corrupted or unreadable" then it means that your word file is
corrupted. Now you need Word Repair tool to repair your word file. But
before using the tool go through Mr Tyson process.

I suggest you the URL for Word repair tool
