Can Not Modify JPEG Properties Across a Network

I can not modify the properties of a jpeg image over a network. The details
follow.

I have a network with two computers. The computers are successfully set up
to share and modify files across the network. The computers are running
Windows XP. I can sit down at either computer and do the following across
the network: create files on the other computer, delete files on the other
computer, and edit files on the other computer.

However, I am not able to modify the properties of a jpeg image over a
network. I have a jpeg file on one computer. If a do a right mouse click
for properties on the file, under summary I can add or modify the "author,
title, comments,..." properties for the file. I can also view these "author,
title, comments,..." properties across the network. However, I can NOT add
or modify the "author, title, comments,..." across the network. I can add or
modify these items only while sitting at the computer that actually holds the
file. This shows up as an issue if the files are shared across the network,
or if the files are on a drive that is mapped across the network.

Have you checked the security settings for the folder the image resides in?
