can not get to internet with win 2000 pro laptop

I have a laptop with win 2k pro that works fine on the
ethernet network at work. At home I have a cable modem
with a router. I have the line going into the router and
my 2 winxp computers plugged into the router. They both
work fine. When I plug my win2k pro laptop into the
router, I can not connect tp the internet. In fact it
kills the connection on the two xp machines as well. Any
advise would be appreciated.

Thanks,
mm

do you use a static IP at work ?, maybe your laptop is
still leasing the ip...you should release the IP and renew
and try it again

I tried that and it did not work. Any other suggestions?

First check if your laptop gets an IP number via 'ipconfig /all'. If it
does check if it is in the range of your other computers and if you can
ping them.

If all fails contact your system administrator of your company and tell
him/her your problem.
