A customer just purchased a new Dell laptop with built in intel wireless pro NIC. (WinXP pro sp1) I was asked to solve wireless connection issues and connect file and print sharing. The oddest thing, When I open the properties for the wireless NIC, Client for Microsoft Network and file sharing is un-checked. When I check them I get an error that tells me the settings are not compatible and Client for MS network and file sharing will be disabled. The wireless internet works but I'm unable to share files and printers.

I hope someone has an answer.

Something's wrong with the wireless network connection. Go to Device
Manager and un-install the wireless network adapter, which will delete
the wireless network connection. Then, re-install the wireless
network adapter, which will create a new wireless network connection.
