I have a Dell running XP home edition sp1
I have a folder in My Documents that I can not delete. I receive an error
message " Can Not read from the source file or disk". When I try to write to
the folder it creates a duplicate empty folder and stores the file in the
uneraseable folder. I can read and copy files from the folder. Can someone
suggest a way to delete this folder?

Thanks. No help however. DOS does not even see this directory so the hints
in kellys Korner can not work.

Try deleting it from safe mode.

Or open the cmd prompt: Start | Run | cmd hit ok

then navigate to the folder containing the one you are trying to delete
and try the rd command (remove directory). Type rd /? for options.

I was able to solve my problem by deleting the non-8dot3 file name.
