can not delete entries in OL 2000 folder

I have one folder that I can not delete either any individual email entries,
or the folder itself. it will move to delete items folder...but will not
delete. I get an error message saying "message interface caused an unknown
error - restart outlook.

I do and the same problem repeats. I have a dozen or so other folders that
I can delete any or all messages from...just this one folder seems 'frozen'

I can copy items from it to another folder...but get an error message when I
try to move an item to another folder ie - can not move item.

I have run scanpst and it does not solve the problem

Anyone know how I can delete this folder and it's contents ?

OK, that's not anywhere near the file size limit, so size isn't the problem.
You may want to run the Inbox Repair Tool a few more times on the file, as
sometimes this helps. If not, try creating a new mail profile.

So far nothing works...when I try to move the folder...I get a you do not
have permission error message..check properties to change permissions...but
there's nothing in properties to change ?

Also...what do you mean exactly by try creating a new mail profile...?..do I
delete what I have or just modify them in some way ?

Yeah, I forgot you were using Outlook 2000 -- in Internet Mail Only mode you
don't have profiles, so that's not really an option for you. You may want
to search the Microsoft Knowledge Base
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;KBHOWTO) for
Outlook 2000 and the keywords "messaging interface returned an unknown
error" (or better yet, click the "How to Search for Error Messages" link on
that page for tips on effective searching for error messages). I know there
are quite a few possible causes of this error message and quite a few MSKB
articles addressing these issues, and perhaps you will find one that applies
in your situation. Good luck.

Thanks Jocelyn...I'll try the KB over the weekend...I did notice though that
all the items in the troubled folder have nothing in the internet header
section under the options screen details...I would guess that's what's
causing the inability to delete...
