Can not access taskbar

I can not access my taskbar, think I must have picked up
a virus. When I move my mouse over taskbar all I get is
the hour glass. I can not even reformat using the cd. I
can choose the icons on the desktop but can not use the
start menu.

Scan your system for malware with Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoft.de)
and a virus scanner. Try from the Safe Mode if you cannot run programs
from the Normal Mode.
