Can MS Works open MS Word documents ? ( and vice versa)

I do not have MS word. I have an XP PC. It has MS Works.

If yes, how do I make this happen ?

Pls. let me know.

Thanks

Ava

The word processor included within Microsoft Works cannot
open files created with any version of MS Word.

With the Microsoft Word Viewer 97/2000, Microsoft Word
users can share documents with those who do not have Word
and users without Word can open and view Word documents.
You cannot make any changes to a Word document using
this Word Viewer.

Microsoft Works Suite 2005 (also includes Microsoft Word)

($99.95 - $20.00 rebate = $79.95) (good value)

# 1. If you are going to cross post please crosspost and not put in message
into each NG independently.

#2. If the Word document is saved properly yes.

#3. For a program guaranteed to open/edit most Word documents without
paying for Word see here for the free download of Open Office.

<snip>

This is true only of files saved in the native .doc Word format.

Open Office is wonderful. With spreadsheets, html, even a power point
function. And best of all, it has a built in print to .pdf capability
that is one-click simple.
