Can I use PowerPoint on a memory stick in a PC-free projector

We are hoping to buy a PC -free projector for our history club talks. Our
speakers come from many different places and bring their own presentations so
their Powerpoint versions will differ.
If I ask them to save their PowerPoint presentations as Jpegs on a USB
memory stick I am told that these will work in projectors with a USB
connector.
However many will want to use Powerpoint effects.
If I ask them to use Pack and Go (or its equivalent) and to include the
Power Point Viewer on the stick too will their presentations work normally?
That is - without being saved as Jpegs?

I have found that If I use the package for CD/Copy to Folder option then
copy all the files to the memory stick I have no problem running the
presentation on various computers.

I have not yet found a projector that can play full PowerPoint
presentations. Even if you include the PowerPoint Viewer on the USB stick,
there is no operating system which it can run on.

If you want to save money, a small netbook computer will do. Or buy a used
computer. But I would never rely on a PC-free system for public
presentations.

Best regards,
Ute

Projectors that claim to view a powerpoint presentation - will only show a
series of static 'last frame' powerpoint slides. You will not get the full
powerpoint effects
