Can I use auto signature in Word?

Using windows XP and Word 2003, I can get the useful auto signature when
doing emails with Outlook, but this feature disappears when using Word.

Conversely, I can use Windows character map while in Word, but it gives me
gobble-de-gook in Outlook. It would be nice to have both.

I'm am not a computer buff, so please forgive if these are basic issues,
obvious to most.

Can anyone advise if its possible to access both features at the same time
when sending emails?

Since AutoSignature is a feature of Outlook, it's not clear what you would expect to happen in Word.

Nor is it clear what gobbledegook you're referring to.

Please provide more detail.
