Can I temporarly disable Task Reminder Popups?

In Outlook 2k I have a lot of regular Task that popup and remind me.

If I disable reminders, then re-enable them, they stop popping up as Outlook
2k clears all reminder flags when I do the disable.

MY QUESTION: Is there a way to temporarly disable Reminders such that when I
re-enable them, all my reminder settings are still set?
