Can I sort data that contains calcualtions?

I am running an adult team climbing league and I would like to use excel to
caculate team scores and to rank teams and individuals. If I use a function
to calculate the scores can I then sort that data? It seems like when I sort
it, it actually loses where it was pulling the data from. Maybe I'm just not
doing it correctly.

Yes....be sure to select all the data (including headers)and then sort by
header (column).
