Can I scan printed slides and use as new power point presentation

I had printed slides from a PP presentation on a computer that's been stolen.
If I scan the hard copy into a new computer, can I use them to create a new
PP presentation or do I have to make all new slides from scratch?

Please tell me you had security passwords on your laptop. Well, that's off
topic.

Option 1 -- scan the pages
Use your scanner software to scan the slides as images
Use PowerPoint's native Insert => Picture => PhotoAlbum (or a better method
would be to use Image Importer Wizard http://skp.mvps.org/iiw.htm) to get
the images onto a new slide deck.

The scanned printout images will be flattened, meaning you will not be able
to modify the presentation slides. You will also not be able to add any
animations to bullet points or images. Also, depending on the print
resolution and scanner resolution, you may loose some image sharpness.
Usually this is most noticeable on text.

Option 2 -- rebuild the presentation.
What I would do is use the printed slides as a road map for recreating the
presentation from scratch. It should go a bit faster, since you know what
you want to say and the layout.
