Hi, I currently run nortons antivirus 2003, and wanted to
know if there were ank known problems with also
installing and running avg? Why i would want to do this
I am still not sure of, but i have heard (through
friends) that avg detects more viruses that nortons does.
any tips?

Pick which one you like and will use properly and use it.
Sometimes two AV applications are not compatible and cause problems.

Only install and run just one (1) antivirus program.
Running more than one will cause conflicts and error messages.

Some AV programs won't even install if they see a competitor's product
installed. If they do install, the biggest problem I've seen is that they
may detect viruses in each other's quarantine folders.

I do have one test machine that has both Norton and AVG, and it hasn't had
problems yet. I don't think it's really necessary for a normal computer, but
this one sees some special use.

Besides antivirus software, make sure you've also got spyware detection
software installed.
