Since I upgraded Home Edition to XP Pro I am having way too many problems.
Can I reverse that installation and go back to what I had before? I tried
System Restore and it did not work.

No, you can't. What sort of problem do you experience?

Er...., No, the purpose of WinXP's System Restore is to restore any of
WinXP's system files that might have been damaged or overwritten.

The normal way to "uninstall" any operating system is to format
the hard drive and install a new OS of your choice.

Only if you performed an upgrade from Win98/Me, elected to backup
the old system files, and didn't convert the partition to NTFS, can
you then boot into Safe Mode and click Start > Control Panel
Add/Remove Programs. All of these conditions must be met for the
uninstall option to be available.

If you go down two more to the Task Bar afterupgrading, you will see two,
plus many others

Sorry, I do not understand "If you go down two more to the task
bar" - please rephrase.

Hi, Jerry
Think about it. There are many different newsgroup readers. There are many
different ways to sort and display postings. What is 'down two' to you
might be 'up ten' to me. Sometimes you have to repeat yourself so that
everyone is 'on the same page' so to speak. Post it here in this thread
again.

OK, got it. Two problems posted (among many others) two postings below this
one with the title "task bar after upgrading:

1. I upgraded Home Edition to XP Professional. Then upgraded Office to
2003 and unless I use the language bar, the task bar goes away and cannot
retrieve.

2. If I use the language bar, the taskbar shows up but programs cannot be
minimized, they just close. In other words, open files cannot be minimized.
they ALL have to be kept open in order to navigate through them.

The files Elmo sent from Kelly Theriot's site did not work either.

First I knew that you COULD upgrade Home to Pro. Anyway, unless you
have a backup, probably no way back. Probably have to wipe the drive
and do a clean install.

NO, system restore only brings back a previous registy of your existing
OS. It does not bring one back to a previous OS.

This seems to be primarily an Office problem. Beyond suggesting that
you remove and reinstall Office, my best advice would be for you to post
these problems in an Office newsgroup..

I will. HOwever, I removed the both Office old and new and the double task
bar is there AND minimizing make documents just vanish.

No, you can't.

What problems are you having? It's unlikely that they are the result
of running Home instead of Professional.

Why did you upgrade in the first place? What benefits did you expect
to get from Professional that Home didn't provide?
