can i reload wondowsXp without a disk?

HI, my computer is starting to go slow and is freezing quite regularly, so i
tried to use the reload disk i had when the system was new. but the disk
doesnt work, and the manufacturer is now out of business (Tiny computers) Is
there any way of reinstalling windows without a proper disk? or failing that
i do have a disk that i upgraded my other computer with, so can i use that to
load on this computer but use this computers COA ? any help appreciated.

If you have an OEM CD you're probably OK - but the version has to match. You
can't use a retail CD with an OEM CD key, or an XP Home CD for Pro, etc.

If you use a Retail Cd, just use the right CD Key for that PC. In
other words you can take a retail cd and load it on 10 pc's, if you have
10 different CD keys.

I would forget about reinstalling Windows XP and try other ways to
resolve your performance issue.

How much RAM memory does your computer have?

Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to select Task Manager and click the Performance
Tab. Under Commit Charge what is the Total, the Limit and the Peak?

Open Disk Defragmenter and click on Analyse. Select View Report and
click on Save As and Save. Now find VolumeC.txt in your My Documents
Folder and post a copy. Do this before running Disk Defragmenter as it
is more informative.

The Tiny COA key on the side of the machine will only work with an OEM
version of a Windows XP CD. It will not work with an Upgrade or Retail
CD. Try borrowing one and install using that.
If the disk does not work, check to make sure you have the right boot
sequence in the BIOS(it needs to boot from the CD)
However they were temperamental and if the MBR, recovery partition or
T-clone folder have been wiped then it wont work: you need the "real"
OEM CD
