Can I reinstate/recover a previous version of a Word document?

I inadvertantly saved a modified document as the name of
the original. I am using Word 2000. Example I opened
original.doc, made some changes, meant to save the changes
as original1.doc. Instead I hit File, Save and now have
the modified document only. Any ideas? Please send reply
to (e-mail address removed) Thanks.

If the file is still open, you can Undo back to where you started, resave,
then Redo and Save As. If you've already closed the file but have "Always
create backup copy" enabled, you will find the previous version in the same
folder as "Backup of <filename>.wbk."
