Can i recall an entire list in an excel spreadsheet

Can i create a formula that will recall a list of data bound by a course
number. For example if i have a book list which are separated by subject
type can i recall this list by entering a single piece of data.

Can you post a sample of the data layout?

Not a file, just a sample.
