can i open a .wps file in word 2000?

Im trying to find a patch type thing which allow me to open .wps files in
word 2000. I know theres one that exists that lets you do the reverse, but
that doesn't help me so much!

The patch type thing is called a text import filter. Which filter you need
depends on the version of Works that created it. Some of the older ones are
linked from the downloads page of my web site. You will probably find that
by re-running Word setup from control panbel add& remove programs that you
can add the filters the default installation leaves behind.
