Can I link jpeg's and maps in Access?

Is it possible to link a jpeg (or multiple jpegs) to an Access record? I
read that Access does not handle jpegs very well, is this true? and in which
case would it make more sense to use a command button to point to an
external location where pictures are saved?

Also, is there any way I can embed part of a Google map into an Access
record?

Yes you are right - you don't store the pictures - you store the path to the
pictures

To link google maps with records - basically don't. There is no need as
long as google keeps the map section on it's site.

a slight variation in advice is to make use the Hyperlink field

that is a property you can select for a field in your underlying
table....and then of course be in any form as a control....

it works well; essentially the database becomes a pointer to these other
non-db files....and then when one selects a hyperlink the OS then launches
whichever default application supports that type file....

Sorry but wont work for Google maps. Google don't use flat files for the
maps on the site - they are in reality a collection of files - when you
"point" at a map you are actually loading a code to point at the correct
"collection" not the map itself. What you see on the screen is the
collection of images (as requested by your code) all sized (as per your code).
